I have spent the bulk of my life living in Spokane. All my formal education was completed here at All Saints Grade School,
Gonzaga Preparatory School and Degrees in Business and Mechanical Engineering at Gonzaga University.
You will see that I am quite capable, and have a large and diverse set of skills, education and experience
not common among engineers coming out of school or those who have worked one or two positions their whole career.
What got me to become an engineer after having accounting and bookkeeping jobs was a love of airplanes. I built model
airplanes as a kid and much of my adult years. During four years living in Bothell, I made friendships with several
engineers who liked dogfight model airplanes and I was hooked. I decided to go back to school and get my engineering degree so
I could go to work for Boeing, but plans got changed and I ended up back in Spokane.
Since there is not a big market for engineers looking for work in aerospace in Spokane, I have had to figure out other ways
to make a living. I have done work in HVAC and Plumbing Consulting, Heavy Equipment Design and Engineering and worked at
other odd jobs.
Currently, I am designing an internet web site, Steritech, Inc., a Spokane based manufacturer of cutting edge
hospital and laboratory grade disinfectants.
I am trained and experienced with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. I also taught myself SolidWorks at Gonzaga
University's Herak Center for Engineering.
My reputation as an innovator in the design and production of metal and wood products including a miniature
CNC machine shop and metal melting furnaces is well known amongst my professional colleagues in the Spokane area.
As Chairman ASM Inland Empire Chapter, we earned ASM's Five Star Award for the 2003-2004 Chapter year, ASM's highest award.
I have a vast resume of expertise in the operation of PC programs for both engineering and business dating back to 1983.
I am eligible to take the Professional Engineer Exam.
The previous several years were spent primarily taking care of my uncle who had and since died of Lou Gehrig's
disease, doing volunteer work for church, making parts with my machine shop and enhancing my shop based technical
skills and tooling.
I am willing to do simple or part time jobs as a means to working my way back into a position more in tune
with my skills and abilities.
